Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Food Science under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above listed universities include;
Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics and Agric Science
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) FUDMA requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics or Mathematics.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Food Science;
You require;
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric, Science, Physics, Basic Catering and Food Services, Bakery and Confectioneries, Hotel & Catering Crafty course (Cookery), Hotel & Catering Craft Course (Food /Drinks Services) and Basic Electricity.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) UNILORIN requires ‘O’ Level pass in Physics, and also ‘O’ Level pass in Biology for ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science or Food and Nutrition
(ii) FED-DUTSINMA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry/Forestry/Fisheries
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Food Science, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Physics/Agric Science/Botany/Zoology.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) UNILORIN requires candidates with ‘O’ Level pass in Biology, but who have ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science may be considered. ‘O’ Level pass in Physics is acceptable in lieu of ‘O’ Level credit pass.
(ii) FUDMA requires;
(a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science.
(b) IJMB in relevant subjects.
(c) NCE/ND with at least merit in Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry and one (1) of Biology/Agric. Science.
