Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Hotel Management and Tourism under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above listed universities include;
Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics/Physics or one (1) Social Science subject.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) FUWUKARI requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and any one of Geography/Home Economics/Economics.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Hotel Management and Tourism;
You require;
Five (5) SSCE credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, Mathematics, Physics, English Language and any one of Nutrition, Fine Arts, Textile, Construction, Technical Drawing, Basic Electricity, Basic Catering and Food Services, Bakery and Confectioneries, General Metal Work, Men Garment Construction and Finishing, Spinning, Weaving, Surface Design and Printing, Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing, Ladies Garment Construction and Finishing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) MOUAU accept;
(a) For Home Economics accepts Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science and any other science subjects; requires at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics. ‘O’ level credit in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least ‘O’ level pass in Biology
(b) For Hotel Management and Tourism, it requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any of Physics, Economics and Government.
(ii) FUWUKARI requires Five (5) Credits passes at not more than two sittings in SSCE/GCE /NECO/NABTEB or (its equivalent) and which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any of the following; Biology/Agriculture, Geography/Economics/ Tourism/Home Economics
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Hotel Management and Tourism, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or equivalents in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Economics/Physics/Mathematics/Geography/Accounting.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) MOUAU accept ND distinction/credit, HND credit into 200 level while those with ND lower credit NCE Double Major at credit/merit level in Agriculture are admitted into 100 level.
(ii) FUWUKARI – Direct Entry candidates must obtain two A/L passes in GCE IJBM/Advanced NABTEB or at least a Merit pass at NCE Or a Lower Credit at OND, HND Which must include one of the following Tourism Studies, Nutrition and Catering Management, Home Economics, and Geography.
