Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study English Studies under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;
Literature in English, one (1) other Arts subject and another Arts or Social Science subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
KASU accepts Literature in English and two other subjects in Arts or Social Sciences.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study English Studies;
You require;
Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include Literature in English and English Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics, one Arts subject and two (2) of the following CRS/IRS, Igbo Language/Yoruba Language/Hausa Language, History/Government, French, Fine Arts or Music
(i) KASU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and two other subjects in Arts or Social Sciences
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study English Studies, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes to include Literature in English and one (1) other Arts subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) AAUA accepts ND upper credit in Mass Communication. AAUA does not accept NCE
(ii) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ passes to include Literature in English and one other Arts subjects. NCE merit pass including English provided they merit ‘O’ Level requirements. ND/HND Lower credit in related field and IJMB 7 points and above
