Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Linguistics / Edo under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;

Two (2) relevant Arts subjects and any other subject.

O’Level Requirements


The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Linguistics / Edo;

You require;

Five (5) SSCE credit passes or TC II merits including English Language, Literature in English and a Nigerian Language preferably Edo. A pass in Mathematics is optional.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

UNIBEN accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language for candidates with ‘O’ Level distinction pass in Literature in English.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Linguistics / Edo, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

(i) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in GCE or HSC or a recognised equivalent in any two (2) Arts subjects.

(ii) NCE in any two (2)Arts subjects with an overall Merit level pass
