In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Linguistics with Igbo / Yoruba under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;

UNILAG accepts any three (3) subjects from Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Linguistics with Igbo / Yoruba;
You require;
Five (5) SSCE credit passes including English Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
UNILAG requires five (5) ‘O’ level credits passes to include English Language, Mathematics and three (3) other subjects from Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences. Social Studies and Civic Education are also accepted.
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Linguistics with Igbo / Yoruba, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) โAโ level passes or NCE to include any Language, preferably an African Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
UNILAG requires very good passes in three (3) JUPEB ‘A’ level subjects:
a) Yoruba/Igbo and any two (2) of History, CRS/IS, French, Government, Music, Visual Arts and LiteratureinEnglish.
b) NCE merit in two (2) subjects to include a Nigerian Language.
c) Candidates must also satisfy the UTME requirements.
