In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Theatre And Film Studies under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;
Literature in English and two (2) other relevant subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNN requires Literature in English and two (2) subjects from either Arts or Social Sciences.
(ii) UNIPORT requires Literature in English and any other two (2) subjects from History/Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Physics, Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography, Commerce.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Theatre And Film Studies;
You require;
Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language and Arts subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIJOS, Fine Arts is not compulsory.
(ii) UNIPORT requires Five (5) O Level Credits in English Language, Literature in English and any other three (3) subjects from History/Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Physics, Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography, Commerce.
(iii) UNN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in subjects to include English language, Literature in English, and one Science subject.
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Theatre And Film Studies, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Arts, Social Sciences or Science subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIJOS accept certificate in Drama, Theatre Arts – Mass Communication and Music. ‘A’ Level passes to include Literature in English, plus the UTME requirements.
(ii) UNIPORT accepts A/level passes in GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB in two (2) Art or Social Science subjects including UTME entry requirements
(iii) UNIJOS accept ‘A’ Level/IJMB pass in two (2) or three (3) ‘A’ Level passes and other certificates in Drama, Mass Communication, Journalism with three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects including Literature in English.
(iv) UNN accepts:
a) ND/NCE either in Theatre Arts or any other relevant subjects or ‘A’ Level pass in Literature in English.
b) ND in Mass Communication, Fine and Applied Arts, Electrical/Elect. Engineering, Music, Management and other relevant program, plus the UTME requirements.
