Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education and Hausa under the Faculty of Education in the above listed universities include;

Hausa, one (1) Arts and one (1) subject from Economics, French, Geography/Physics, Government, History, Islamic Studies, Literature in English and Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) UMYU requires Hausa and any two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects.

(ii) ABU requires Use of English, Hausa and any other 2 arts or social science subjects.

(iii) FUK requires Hausa, one Art and one subject from Economics, French, Geography, Government, History, Literature in English

O’Level Requirements


The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Hausa;

You require;

Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language and Hausa.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

 (i) ABU requires Five “O” Level credits passes including English Language and Hausa

(ii) UMYU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Hausa and any other two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

(iii) BUK requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Hausa plus three (3) other subjects.

(iii) UNIMAID requires Hausa and two (2) subjects from Arts.

(iv) FUK requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Hausa and any other two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Hausa, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects to include Hausa. 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) UDUSOK and BUK accepts NCE merit.

(ii) UMYU accepts candidates with a minimum of 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level/NCE in Hausa and any other relevant subject. Candidates with a minimum of lower credit pass in Diploma in Hausa Education from recognized institutions may also be admitted.

(iii) ABU accepts “A” Level passes / IJMB in at least two subjects which must include Hausa. ABU Diploma in Hausa with minimum of Merit pass. NCE with minimum of “C” grade in Hausa.

(iv) FUK accepts Two ‘A’ Level credit passes irrelevant subjects or ND/NCE/Diploma with minimum of 9 points.
