Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Applied Botany under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics.

(i) ATBU requires Geography and not Mathematics.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Applied Botany;
You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passesΒ in English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and any one (1) ofΒ HealthΒ Science, Statistics, Physics and Geography.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ATBU requires five (5) βOβ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core course with three (3) other relevant Science subjects from Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Geography.
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Applied Botany, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and either Chemistry or Physics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ATBU accepts IJMB/’A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry and any one (1) of the following three (3) subjects, Mathematics, Physics or Agricultural Science. ND lower credit in the following programmes: Science Laboratory Technology, Forestry or Agriculture and Food Science Technology. The candidate must also have the five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics or Geography.
