Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Applied Geology under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Any three (3) of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Geography..
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) FUTA accepts Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics/Biology
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Applied Geology;
You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) FUTA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings or its equivalent in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, English Language and Biology/Agricultural Science.
(ii) ATBU require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
(iii) ATBU accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Applied Geology, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
(i) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes from Geology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Geography.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
i) FUTA accepts;
(a) ND in Geology, Mineral Resources or Mining Engineering with a minimum of upper credit from recognized Polytechnic/Monotechnics and Colleges of Technology.
(b) ‘A’ Level good passes in at least two (2) Science subjects including Chemistry and Physics.
ii) ATBU accepts IJMB/’A’ Level passes in any three (3) of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. ND lower credit in Geology from a recognised Polytechnic. The candidate must also have five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics..
