Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Industrial Chemistry under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Chemistry, Mathematics and any of Physics/Biology/ Agricultural Science.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Industrial Chemistry;
You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) BOWEN – do not accept Agric Science.
(ii) MADONNA accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(iii) BASU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Chemistry, Physics and Further Mathematics.
(iv) MAUTECH requires Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(v) AJAYI accepts Geography in lieu of Physics and IMSU accepts a pass in English Language under exceptional circumstances.
(vi) FUOYE do not accept Agricultural Science.
(vii) OAU accept any other subject in lieu of Biology and UNIBADAN requires 5 or 6 ‘O’ level credit passes at one or two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
(viii) EBSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
(ix) KASU does not accept Agricultural Science
(x) FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science
(xi) BELLS requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology/ Geography/Further Mathematics/Agricultural Science.
(xii) RUN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/ Agricultural Science.
(xiii) RNU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(xiv) BSU accepts passes in five (5) prescribed subjects in Preliminary Science of BSU in addition to minimum UTME score. Does not accept Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
(xv) UMYU five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any of Biology, Geography, Agricultural Science or Computer Studies at not more than two (2) sittings
(xvi) LANDMARK requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any one of the following Biology, Geography, Further mathematics, Agricultural Science and Computer studies.
(xvii) FUDMA accepts Five ‘O’ level Credits including: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(xviii) DELSU five (5) ‘O’ Level credits which must include Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, Physics and one other Science subject.
(xix) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science.
(xx) FUOYE requires five (5) credits at SSC (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(xxi) BUK requires five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(xxii) ILORIN requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(xxiii) EKSU requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science.
(xxiv) FUWUKARI – Candidates must obtain Five(5) Credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics obtained from Senior School Certificate(SSCE), National Examination Council(NECO), National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) (or its equivalent) or its equivalent. Credit in Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry/Fisheries/Forestry can be accepted in place of Biology for B. Sc. Industrial Chemistry only.
(xxv) MAUTECH requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(xxvi) UNILAG requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Industrial Chemistry, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
(i) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics
(ii) ND in Science Technology or ND in relevant programmes with the UTME requirements
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) UNILORIN accepts;
a) Three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics with the UTME requirements.
b) does not accept Agricultural Science in 5 O’L requirements.
c) does not accept NCE, ND/HND but accepts IJMB & JUPEB ‘A’ Level.
d) requires ‘A’ Level pass in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
(ii) UNILORIN accepts ‘A’ Level pass in Chemistry and Physics
(iii) EKSU accepts two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics. ND in Science Technology or ND in relevant programmes with the UTME requirements. ND (Upper credit) in relevant field.
(iv) BOWEN same as in Biochemistry
(v) UI do not accept ND/NCE.
(vi) ESUT does not require’ O’ level credit pass in Biology or Agricultural Science.
(vii) AJAYI requires A’ level passes in Biology and Chemistry or NCE in Chemistry and Physics plus UTME requirements.
(viii) EBSU accepts;
(a) a good NCE or ND with at least 2.5 CGPA ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Mathematics or Statistics or Physics.
(b) HND with CGPA of not less than 2.5 can be admitted into 300 level. In (a) and (b), candidates must have ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings.
(ix) UNIBEN in addition to UTME requirements, accepts:
a) ND (Upper credit), HND (lower credit) in Polymer Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology in relevant subjects.
b) NCE (Overall merit) with credit passes in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
(x) AAUA accepts
a. two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics
b. ND in Science Technology or ND in relevant field with UTME requirements.
(xi) WDU accepts
(a) At least two passes at the GCE ‘A’ Level in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
(b) ND/HND with at least lower credit pass in relevant Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), or Polymer Chemistry in the relevant subject area from a recognized Polytechnic. (c) NCE with at least a credit pass in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidate should have an overall merit pass.
(xii) UNILORIN does not accept Biology but requires ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Chemistry.
(xiii) WUSTO accepts:
a) Two “A” level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order.
b) Upper Credit passes in ND in addition to 5 Credits at WASC/GCE O’L / SSCE (or its equivalent).
(xiv) FUTA accepts
a) A minimum of Upper Credit at the ND or equivalent in Science Laboratory Technology, Food Science and Technology, Polymer or Textile Technology; or
b) GCE ‘A’ Level passes (Not lower than C) in at least two (2) subjects from Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics and Biology.
(xv) UNIOSUN accepts:
a) ‘A’ level passes in Biology, Geography and Physics in lieu of Mathematics.
b) ND with a minimum of Lower Credit and approved equivalents.
(xvi) CRAWFORD accepts ND upper credit are eligible for admission into 200 Level provided that their programme covers certain basic courses offered in the school up to the second year. HND lower credit are eligible for admission into 200 level depending on the appropriateness of their requisite academic preparation. Holders of two (2) ‘A’ Level subjects passes including Chemistry and one (1) of Physics, Mathematics are also eligible for admission into 200 Level programme in any of the Chemistry programmes. In addition to fulfilling the requirements stated above, a holder of ND, HND or ‘A’ Level must also have five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes.
(xvi) FUTA accepts ND upper credit or its equivalent in Science Laboratory Technology, Science Technology, Food Science and Technology or Textile Technology. Also, candidates with ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) subjects which must include Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics and Biology are eligible for admission.
(xvi) BELLS accepts:
(a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
(b) ND/HND in related programme plus the UTME requirements.
(xvii) FUOYE accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology.
(xviii) RNU accepts ND credit from recognised institutions.
(xix) OSUSTECH requires:
a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics Mathematics or Biology in that order.
b) ND distinction and credit in relevant programmes.
(xx) CALEB accepts ND at Credit level in Science Laboratory Technology or Sciences related studies may be considered for admission by direct entry provided they have the UME subjects at one sitting.
(xxi) UMYUK acceptsND/HND lower credit with Chemistry as major or its equivalent lower credit from a recognized institution. NCE candidates must have Chemistry as major with any of Physics, Biology, Mathematics or other relevant subject or certificate from a recognized institution with a score of nine (9) points. ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any two (2) from Physics, Biology or Mathematics with a score of nine (9) points.
(xxii) BASU requires six (6) points in relevant subjects in IJMB examination or ‘A’ Level examination. The relevant subjects are Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Chemistry, Physics and ‘A’ level Mathematics. ND upper credit.
(xxiii) FUDMA accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. OND/NCE with good grades and relevant ‘O’ level subjects.
(xxiv) DELSU requires at least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics
(xxv) FUPRE requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology.
(xxvi) FUWUKARI – Direct Entry candidates must obtain at least two ‘A’/ Level passes in Science subjects at GCE A/ Level IJMB/Advanced NABTEB or merit pass at NCE in Chemistry and one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology or at least Credit in OND/HND in relevant field, especially: Laboratory Science Technology from a recognized Polytechnic. Candidate must also satisfy UTME admission requirements of Five (5) credits in relevant field including English and Mathematics.
(xxvii) MAUTECH accepts IJMB/ Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics. ND/HND in Science Technology or ND in relevant field.
(xxviii) UNILAG accepts Very good passes in the following three JUPEB/’A’ -level subjects: Chemistry, Physics and any one (1) of Mathematics and Biology. Candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements.
(xxix) UNIPORT – For Industrial Chemistry accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics including UTME entry requirements
(xxx) EDSU accepts ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics and Mathematics, plus the UTME Requirements. ND/HND with Credit passes in relevant programmes from a recognized institution in addition to O’ level requirements. IJMB/JUPEB in relevant subjects.
(xxxi) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics and Biology. ND/HND/NCE with merit/ Lower Credit in related field in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements. IJMB/GCE ‘A’ Level with 7 points and above.
(xxxii) LANDMARK accepts Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics. ND in Science Technology or ND in relevant programmes with the UTME requirements.
(xxxiii) BUK requires;
a) Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Physics.
b) OND in Sciences relevant subjects
