Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Information Technology under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) FUD requires Chemistry or Biology as the third subject
(ii) CRESCENT;
(a) for Computer Science requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(b) for Information Technology accepts require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Economics/Biology/Geography.
(iii) SALEM require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Information Technology;
You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) CRESCENT requires five (5) O ’level credit passes in not more than two (2) sittings must include English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics.
(ii) BUK accepts five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, plus three of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Agriculture or Economics
(iii) FUD requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two relevant Science-based subjects from Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Economics in not more than two sittings
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Information Technology, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
(i) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics
(ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) AUN accepts:
(a) AUN accepts ‘A’ level passes chosen from English Language, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French.
(b) does not accept credit passes in the following; Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Book `Keeping, Islamic History, Religious Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills.
(c) accepts ICGSE and ‘A’ level Cambridge and does not offer admissions direct to 200 level programs. May transfer credits relevant to its major at the discretion of the Dean of school.
(ii) FUD requires ND/IJMB/NCE Certificate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and Electrical Electronics Engineering with a) minimum 8 points b) minimum Lower Credit from Institution recognised by Government and accredited by NBTE.
