Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Pure / Applied Mathematics under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Mathematics, Physics and Biology or Agricultural Science or Chemistry or Geography
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIBEN accepts Mathematics, Physics and any of Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(ii) UNIPORT requires Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Pure / Applied Mathematics;
You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science or Geography
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIPORT requires Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology
(ii) UNIBEN accepts Economics as the fifth (5th) subject
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Pure / Applied Mathematics, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
(i) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any other Science subject.
(ii) NCE merit/HND /ND upper credit in Mathematics
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) LAUTECH accepts ND upper credit, HND lower credit, NCE credit in relevant programmes into 200 level or ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics , Physics,, Chemistry or Biology
(ii) UNIPORT – Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Mathematics and any one of Physics, Chemistry or Biology including UTME entry requirements
(iii) UNIBEN: in addition to the UTME requirements, accepts
(a) ND upper credit/ HND lower credit in Mathematics / Statistics or Science Laboratory Technology
(b) NCE merit with ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics and Physics.
(iv) PAUL accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Pure and Applied Physics or Chemistry or Biology or Statistics or its equivalent.
