  • 8m checkmark
  • 14m
  • 16m
  • 24m

The correct answer is: A

Explanation

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(L + B) = length of rod = 44 m

The ratio of length to breadth = 7: 4

That is, \(\frac{L}{B}\) =  \(\frac{7}{4}\)

So, L = \(\frac{7B}{4}\)

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(\(\frac{7B}{4}\)+ B) = 44

Divide through by 2

(\(\frac{7B}{4}\)+ B) = 22

(\(\frac{11B}{4}\)+ B) = 22

cross multiply

11B = 22 x 4 = 88

B = (\(\frac{88}{11}\) = 8m.
