Two bodies of masses 3.0 kg and 2.0 kg are separated by a distance of 50 cm. Calculate the force of attraction between them. [G = 6.67 x 10\(^{-11}\) Nm\(^2\) kg\(^2\)]

  • 1.6 x 10\(^{-9}\)N checkmark
  • 1.3 x 10\(^{3}\)N
  • 2.3 x 10\(^{3}\)N
  • 5.0x 10\(^{3}\)N

The correct answer is: A

Explanation

Using the formula

F = \(\frac{Gm_1m_2}{r^2}\)

= \(\frac{6.67 \times 10^{-11} \times 3.0 \times 2.0}{(50)^2}\)

= \(\frac{40.02 \times 10^{-11}}{2500}\)

= 1.6 x 10\(^{-9}\)N
