Bayero University Kano is now accepting applications for its 2025 Modular MSc and PhD programmes in Agriculture and Climate. These flexible courses mix online and in-person sessions, built to suit working professionals. Read on if you’re aiming for advanced training in sustainable farming or climate response.

Bayero University, Kano, through its Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA), has opened admissions for the 2025 academic year. The focus is on real issues—climate change, resource management, and sustainable farming.

These postgraduate programmes are built for people who want to grow their careers while tackling urgent challenges in agriculture and the environment.

What You Can Study

The CDA offers two main options:

  • MSc in Agriculture and Climate
  • PhD in Agriculture and Climate

Both tracks focus on:

  • Natural Resource Management and Climate Change
  • Sustainable Agriculture

If you work in farming, climate research, or related fields, this might be a good fit.

Who Can Apply?

MSc Requirements

You’ll need one of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Lower (CGPA 2.75 on a 5-point scale), or
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in a related field

PhD Requirements

  • A master’s degree in a relevant course with at least a 3.50 CGPA

The university keeps the bar clear and fair. If you meet the grade, you’re welcome.

Programme Duration

  • MSc runs for 2 academic sessions (full-time)
  • PhD runs for 3 sessions (full-time)

It’s structured, but not rushed.

Why the Modular System Works

Let’s be honest, most people juggling work and study don’t have time to sit in class all week. That’s why this programme uses a modular system. It combines online and face-to-face sessions, giving you flexibility without cutting corners.

You also get:

  • Access to modern tools and teaching
  • Guidance from local and international experts
  • A strong peer network in focused study groups

It’s built for working people, but doesn’t water anything down.
