Eligibility Criteria For Northumbria University 2025/26 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships
To qualify for the Sanctuary Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be currently seeking asylum in the UK or be a dependant, spouse, or civil partner of someone seeking asylum.
- Provide official evidence of immigration status.
- Have received a conditional or unconditional offer for a Full-Time one-year Master’s course at Northumbria University, starting in September 2025.
- Meet all the entry and English language requirements for their chosen course.
- Be living in the North East of England (Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Northumberland, Cleveland, and North Cumbria) at the time of application.
- Be unable to access UK student finance (tuition fee loans or maintenance loans) due to immigration status.
Note: Spouses or civil partners must have been legally recognized at the time of the asylum application. Dependent children must have been under 18 years oldwhen the asylum application was made.
