HTW Berlin, the largest university of applied sciences in Berlin, through the DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2025, offers an 18-month full-time Master’s degree programme in “International and Development Economics” (MIDE), taught entirely in English.

Designed for students from developing and transitional countries as well as from Germany and other developed countries with a special interest in the economic challenges facing “third world” countries, the programme prepares students to work in areas related to global economic affairs and development.

The Master’s programme in International and Development Economics has been established for students who have a first degree in economics/business administration or in other social sciences with a focus on economics. 

Eligibility Requirements For DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2025 (Berlin University)

To be considered for the DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2024, you must:

  • come from a developing country
  • have at least two years of professional experience since graduation, but should not have graduated more than six years ago.
  • have obtained a first university degree with 180 ECTS (or equivalent).
  • have taken at least 15 ECTS in Economics (3 modules in Economics for applicants from abroad).
  • meet the English Language requirements for postgraduate study at the university

The DAAD MIDE Scholarship is one of the DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Scholarships. It covers;

  • monthly payments of 934 euros.
